How does medicine works?
Glucobay 50 MG Tablet belongs to the class alpha-glucosidase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the Pancreatic alpha-amylase enzyme which converts the starches to oligosaccharides in the small intestine and by inhibiting the intestinal alpha-glucosidase enzyme which converts oligosaccharides, trisaccharides, and disaccharides to glucose and other monosaccharides. Thus, delaying the absorption of glucose and helps in lowering the blood glucose levels.
How to use glucobay tablet
Take this drug in the dose and duration as advised by your physician. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glucobay 50 Tablet is to be taken with food.

Low blood glucose levels

Glucobay 50 Tablet lowers your post-meal blood sugar levels. Therefore, it should be taken just before meals.
Side effects such as stomach pain, gas, and diarrhea may occur during the first few weeks of treatment but should get better with time.
